Rather than the typical ugly, whole wall-covering murphy bed, this one looks like a normal chest and does not overwhelm a small room. The thick mattress unfolds perfectly, turning into a comfortable queen platform bed without the sagging and steel bars in your back of a typical sofa bed. Great for small spaces. It turned our small play room into a dual-purpose guest room. Our friends love it. One caution: it is not easy to assemble; the pieces are really heavy, you'll definitely need help--but it sure is worth it once it's put together! - Sportster

Searched high and low for the best solution for our 10 x 9 guest room in a loft style condo. Hesitant regarding the price, but so happy we did it. Quality product, easy to assemble, it is heavy so definately two people and follow the good instructions. Not as imposing on a room as a traditional murphy bed. This is the perfect solution for someone who doesn't want a dedicated "guest room". It is practical with the storage, looks great, easy to operate and so comfortable that my husband and I have not slept in our "expensive air bed" since we got this-and it was only supposed to be for guests! Overall the cabinet bed looks good. It was difficult to handle the boxes and the pieces with just my husband and me, but we got it done. It would be so much easier for three people. I wish the instructions had shown right and wrong sides. The only real downside is that the top piece is cut a bit wrong so I'm going to contact the company tomorrow. - Rilla

This is for our spare bedroom/office. Altogether about 400 lbs, luckily sent in separate boxes!! Instructions were sufficient. The only problem we had was the holes for the piano hinge piece were pre-dimpled wrong, but luckily easy to fix with just drilling the right spots. Product shipped quickly with no problems. Well protected packaging through ups. All parties were very helpful even including a phone call from the manufacturer. Excellent and attractive design. Press wood construction, but finally a smart design from someone. Assembly took 2 hours with 1 person. 2 people is probably faster. bed looks nice. Cabinet is very modern and attractive. Purchased this cabinet bed for a studio condo. It is absolutely perfect! It looks high end, the quality is outstanding, and It's very comfortable. It the perfect solution for a small room. Highly recommend! I added a pillow top for extra comfort, even without the pillow top it was still very comfortable. - NW Condo

This is a beautiful piece - the finish and the hardware are very attractive. It was the perfect option for a small guest bedroom where I didn't want to stare at a bed all year when my company would only be sleeping on it during the holidays. I haven't slept on it - but the mattress seemed very comfortable when I tested it out - WAY more comfortable than a pull out couch which is also what I was considering purchasing. The mattress is very thick - thicker than i was expecting actually. I love that I now have a queen bed in such a small bedroom. This piece is VERY heavy - it took my husband and I about two hours to get it up the stairs and put it together. The heaviest piece being the bottom drawer portion that comes pre-assembled. Arrived in a timely manner. Video on how to assemble the bed was excellent and helped in getting it all done. Only draw back was the quality of some of the screws. As the wood was so dense and the pilot holes were not deep enough ended up with two screws which sheared off when attempt was made to tighten them. Needed to re drill the pilot holes to make it possible to complete the job without having any more break off. All in all very pleased with the cabinet bed. - Peter the artist

It was delivered in less than 2 weeks, no major damage. just some miner scratches not very noticable & can be even less noticable using matching furniture marker. It is a very heavy sturdy piece of furniture that looks great in our family room. The bed pulls out nice & easy, mattress is pretty firm, much more comfortable than a sofa bed. My husband viewed the video & was able to put together with very little help from me in about 2 hours. I wish I had more room for another one some place else in our house. We will really find out how comfortable it is in a couple months when we redo our bedroom. About the only problem that we see right now is the mattress tends to slide around on the slippery surface. But am sure once we put sheets on and maybe a light blanket underneath mattress, this could remendy the problem. - willyfern

This is a nice looking piece of furniture, matches the rest of decor in family room. The bed pulls out easily, like the large storage areas for pillows, sheets, etc. The thick foam mattress seems to be quite firm much nicer than a sofa bed. We will know in a couple months how comfortable it sleeps when we redo our bedroom. The only con is the too smooth surface causes the mattress to slide around. Hopefully that will be remedied when sheets are on mattress & maybe laying a light blanket under mattress. It is a well made quality piece of furniture, very heavy & sturdy. After viewing the video, my husband was able to put together with very little help from me in about 2 hours. Since we have a small house with not a lot of extra room, this will be great when we have overnight guests. I just wish we had more room so I could have another some place else. - willyfern

Love the function of the bed. We replaced a day bed in the spare room and glad we did. The mattress is pretty comfortable. The frame is heavy and firm. The video for assembly was great. The major problem we had was with the black finish. The picture supplied shows a solid black finish but the one we recieved had copper accents. Disappointing. - CLG
