Everything comes well-packaged and instructions are clear but include additional configurations/setups, so make sure that you understand which configuration applies to you. The hardware package even includes a decent screwdriver for assembly, so you may only need a light hammer if you need to tap in a few dowel pins The cam-fasteners are of a MUCH better quality than those used in earlier generations of unassembled furniture kits. I feel that this desk could be disassembled a few years down the road without having any the desk's fasteners coming apart. The desk is quite solid and you put the end cabinets together before attaching the top, versus an earlier method where you attached everything to the top and flipped it over when done. The drawers have a little drag when opening and closing but that may clear up after a bit of use. If they do not align perfectly during assembly, one of the last pages in the instructions shows how to adjust them (easy). - bernball
