Wouldn't put heavy items or a lot of books on them. Unless you can find a stud to put them into. But the way they are designed for the corner the mounting holes would not hit a stud. They come with plug anchors. If you want to put heavy items on them I would advise getting some wing anchors to hang them. - Joy
