I was going to wait for my husband to assemble for me, but upon opening the packages, I realized it is something I could do! Easy to assemble all by myself - I bought it cause I wanted sturdy base for the table, it is very sturdy, and stools are as well. I did research trying to find a table that was "bar" height, and not a "counter table" - I wasn't sure I would like the black part of it, but it fits my room fine, and don't mind the black part of it at all. Glad I bought it - would recommend to anyone. - Smitters
