Assembly was a major job (SIX drawers!), but every screw and component part of the chest was there, and the directions were explicit and easy to understand. I am an 83 year old woman and a first-time furniture assembler, and had no problems assembling this chest. The quality of the components, though not real wood, is excellent and the chest looks at home among other contemporary pieces in the room. I will use the chest as a substitute filing cabinet for business papers ......it is the perfect size and fits in perfectly in any room of the house. - Granny
