The trunk is gorgeous & versatile. The bottom is sturdy & holds a lot. We use it as an end table, but keep copy paper, printer ink, office supplies in it and it is very convenient. I like the "lift desist" hinge that keeps the lid from "banging down"; just apply light pressure to close it. - Judy
